Record industry contempt for markets reaches new ironic heights. Here's USA Today on the continuing death of Internet radio. Dig the contemptuous last remark by Hillary Rosen, whose hands are covered with the blood of the infant industry she's still stabbing in its cradle. [Doc Searls Weblog] Ouch!

Here's Lisa Bowman in CNET on KPIG's decision to stop webcasting. KPIG was the first in, and is now one of the first out (the list so far really isn't long, but with KPIG out, the whole category will dump like a FIFO buffer). That's my bet, anyway, in spite of what I wrote here only a few days ago. [Doc Searls Weblog]

Doonesbury Character Caught Wardriving. In the latest installment of Garry Trudeau's Doonesbury comic, a character gets busted for wardriving. Guess the meme has gone mainstream. While Trudeau is basically right about wardriving, it's unfortunate that most of the hype around the topic obscures the really exciting developments that might make this kind of parasitism irrelevant -- such as the boom in community broadband networks. [Meerkat: An Open Wire Service]

TiVo and the War For Your TV. Newsweek Jul 22 2002 2:41AM ET [Moreover - moreover...] Not much news here, but now Newsweekers are in the know.

Brazilians' Spin: Remix Music Biz. Fed up with the lord-and-serf model established by the record labels, a group of artists and musicians band together to create a new way. Paulo RebÍlo reports from Brazil. [Wired News]

Computer Games as the Tools for Digital Filmmakers. Machinima is an inexpensive form of digital filmmaking that piggybacks on the slick graphics that are easily available from computer games. By Matthew Mirapaul. [New York Times: Technology]
