Misia, Portugal's Melancholy Muse. Singer's Powerful Voice Evokes the Fateful Sadness of Fado. [NPR All Things ConsideredBeautiful voice. Way grooving guitar style.

Military Codename Generator. I thought I could take a bit of load off the hard working men and women at the Pentagon by creating this codename generator.[Hotpoop] OK, this is off subject, but I couldn't resist!

The Art of the Mix - Making Mix Tapes, Mixed CDs and MP3 Playlists. I think I've found a home. They even have XML support and an RSS feed. Subscribed. Doesn't appear to be an easy way to trade mixes though. Copyright considerations? Still exploring. [A Blander Blog]

Welcome to The Covers Project. We're building a database of cover songs (songs performed by an artist other than the original performer) with the intention of creating cover "chains."       The week in review: Quit copying. If you've ever taped a "Seinfeld" episode or traded music online, Uncle Sam may want you to stop. Draft legislation is taking a harder stance on copyright protection. [CNET News.com]
