I don't know who or what or when or how it happened
I didn't see the bus come bearing down on me
I couldn't read the signs-their pseudo psycho scriptures sorta said
But it seems that they could hear, see and read me

Our life until that time was pretty normal (or so I thought)
Filled with the usual quirks and moans we all produce
But the black hole of oblivious deconstruction and obstruction
Was a little bit unusual and obtuse

That's why we're digging
That's why we're turning over stones
That's why we're asking all these questions and carbon dating bones
That's why we're hoping ...
for a breakthrough, for a start
As we pull together pieces of my broken - of my broken heart

I'll blame it all on things beyond my comprehension
I'll blame it squarely on the guy from Lost in Space
Who cloned himself avoiding under-representation
And spread incompetence all over the place

Is it merely a case of mis-classification
semantics leaving little room to move
Are we talking about ego trumping virtue
