Develop the Format

  • Audience: who do you have in mind for receiving podcasts? Internal/external
  • Themes: broadcasts of hot "issue" topics, updates of current projects, policy, etc.
  • Formats: interviews, talking heads, panel discussions, field recordings, etc.
  • Frequency of shows
  • In-house resources: what is being produced today in the area of audio/radio programs?


    Gather the Pieces

    Content: After the Tsunami

    Generate RSS 2.x with Enclosure

    Many web tools now support Podcasts, especially blogging tools. When the MP3 file is detected, an "enclosure" tag is automatically created for it within the RSS files. This is the Podcast XML feed that client software like iTunes or iPodder will read in order to fulfill listeners subscriptions.
