ICN segment: Dark All Day

The audio file for today's podcast can be found here

I finally got my health together and decided to bring out four of the best offerings from this week's songfight.org blue fight...Dark All Day.

Artists featured this week:

Kapitano & TV's Kyle
Jack Holmes
Southwest Statistic
Deshead

Four bands bring four different takes on the same title. Actually, 21 bands bring their takes on this title this week...a big fight! But these are the four best, I believe.

Without a Voice

I've lost my literal voice over the weekend, so I'll send out another one for now in the form of my own music: Just Blue was the color of my mood last Wednesday. But it's getting rosier because there's a new cause and a new focus!

One of the things that scares me in this extended term of Mr Bush's is the plight of our animal friends and their habitat. Feathers talks about birds, but it applies to all living things including ourselves. Learn from our past, folks! We can't go back.

GEMS show - NYC

I attended the Global Entertainment Media Summit this weekend in NYC. There were a lot of independent artists looking to "get signed". The rest of us were looking to find others to collaborate on our visions for a new industry of independent music. A big part of my vision is this Independent Content Network, and I was asked to speak on a panel on Sunday called "Towards Creating a New Industry" led by Michael Masucci of EZTV Media. Scooter Scudieri, Elsa Powel and Dan Kelly joined me with Michael.

I will post the audio from that session when I get it, as a podcast. Unfortunately, as I lost my voice during the course of the weekend, I will have to wait a little longer for the next indie music segment of ICN. But the important thing is that networking happened, I found other people who share part of my vision and perhaps I can contribute to theirs :)
